Motorcyclist killed after colliding with vehicle in National City

NATIONAL CITY (KUSI) – A motorcyclist was killed Thursday after colliding with a car on the South Bay freeway.

The crash occurred around 5:30 p.m. on eastbound State Route 54, near Plaza Bonita Center Way in National City.

According to California Highway Patrol, medics performed CPR on the victim at the scene before taking him to a hospital.

He was later died from his injuries.

The accident left two lanes blocked in the area.
