Motorcyclist killed on I-15 near Rainbow

RAINBOW (KUSI) –  On November 7, 2018 at approximately 5:07 AM California Highway Patrol Border Communications Center received a call of a motorcycle collision blocking the roadway on I-15 Northbound south of Rainbow Valley Boulevard.   A 26 year old male from La Verne CA, was traveling on a motorcycle and for reasons that are still under investigation was involved in a collision.  The male and the motorcycle came to rest within the #2 lane, where multiple vehicles struck the rider and motorcycle. The rider was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The I-15 Northbound lanes were affected from the time of the collision until approximately 9:02 AM.  Three of four lanes were closed initially, and lanes were opened one by one as the investigation progressed to conclusion.

Impairment is not believed to be a factor in this collision at this time.  This collision remains under investigation, and should a member of the public have witnessed the collision or can provide additional information please contact California Highway Patrol Border Communications Center at 858-637-3800.
