Motorcyclist killed in North Park identified as Navy sailor

SAN DIEGO (CNS) – A motorcyclist killed on Interstate 805 in North Park was identified today as a 21-year-old active-duty Navy sailor.

The rider died after he clipped a vehicle and was thrown to the ground, where he was struck by another vehicle on southbound I-805 south of Landis Street about 3:50 p.m. Tuesday, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office.

He died at the scene with multiple blunt force trauma, the M.E.'s Office reported.

The sailor, whose name was withheld, worked at 32nd Street Naval Station in San Diego.
