Motorcyclist killed when struck by SUV in Rolando
SAN DIEGO (CNS) – A 49-year-old motorcyclist was killed when he ran a
stop sign in the Rolando neighborhood and was struck broadside by a SUV, a
police officer said Sunday.
The man, whose name was not immediately released, was riding south on
69th Street about 6:40 p.m. Saturday, and failed to stop at the stop sign at
the intersection with Amherst Street, San Diego police Officer David Stafford
said.
The rider died at the scene, Stafford said.
The SUV's driver, a woman in her 40s, was not injured, Stafford said.
