MTS and San Diego City Officials celebrate “Transit Tuesday”by thanking riders and greeting new ones
SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – MTS and City of San Diego officials will be celebrating #TransitTuesday by thanking regular riders, greeting new riders, and offering coffee, pastries and giveaways at the Sabre Springs Transit Center.
What is #TransitTuesday? It’s a campaign started by the City of San Diego to get residents to change up their commute by taking transit, biking, carpooling, vanpool or walking. Learn more here.
The Sabre Springs Transit Center serves nearby communities of Carmel Mountain Ranch, Sabre Springs, Rancho Penasquitos and Poway – totaling 200,000 residents. Two major routes serve this center including:
• Rapid 290 Express – from Sabre Springs to Downtown (no stops)
• Rapid 235 – between Escondido and Downtown San Diego (one of the busiest bus routes)
