SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – A Metropolitan Transit System bus driver was hospitalized Monday following a three-vehicle crash near an Interstate 805 onramp in the Mountain View area, police said.

The collision happened about 6 a.m. in the 1400 block of South 43rd Street, near the onramp to Interstate 805, San Diego police Lt. Brent Williams said.

Few details about the crash were immediately available, but the collision involved a Metropolitan Transit System bus, a Honda Accord and another vehicle, he said.

The bus driver was transported to UCSD Medical Center with injuries of unknown severity, Williams said.

An unspecified number of passengers were on the bus when the crash occurred, but there was no word on whether any of them were hurt or if any of the occupants of the other vehicles suffered injuries.
