Pedestrian struck by Amtrak train in Oceanside

OCEANSIDE (CNS) – A pedestrian suffered apparently minor injuries today when a commuter train grazed her near a North County rail station.

The southbound Amtrak locomotive sideswiped the woman a short distance from Oceanside Transit Center shortly after 1 p.m., according to police.

Medics took the victim to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, Lt. Leonard Mata said.

The woman was conscious after being hit, the lieutenant said.
