National City Police to deploy saturation patrols on New Year’s Eve

NATIONAL CITY (CNS) – National City police traffic unit will be deployed around the city between 8 p.m. New Year’s Eve and 4 a.m. New Year’s Day, targeting areas with high frequencies of drunken driving collisions and arrests.

Police urged motorists to either drive sober, use public transportation or a taxi, designate a sober driver ahead of time or call a friend or family member for a ride.

Funding for the saturation patrols comes from a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Drunk Drivers can be reported by calling 911.
