National City woman unhurt after kidnapping
SAN DIEGO (CNS) – Police were on the lookout Thursday for the couple who forced a 78-year-old woman to drive them from San Diego’s Grant Hill neighborhood to National City and withdraw money from several banks along the way.
The man, who was around 55, and the woman, who is estimated to be around 45, got into the victim’s car in the vicinity of Imperial Avenue and 26th Street around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday and forced her to drive them around, San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros said.
Delimitros said the suspects made the woman stop and get them money from several banks before hopping out of her car in the 600 block of Highland Avenue in National City more than six hours later.
The victim was not injured, Delimitros said.
