Naval Base Point Loma goes into lockdown

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – Naval Base Point Loma Harbor Drive said it went into a lockdown just before 1 p.m. on Thursday due to a suspicious person.

The suspicious person was detained and was being questioned by law enforcement.

All personnel onboard the installation were directed to seek shelter in the nearest building and activate lock down procedure.

On a Facebook post people were asked to remain indoors until further instruction is received.

Naval Base Point Loma said that Harbor Drive was on lock down and had been shut down by Harbor Police. The Gateway Youth Center and Patrick Wade CDC were on lockdown as well and recalling parents.
