Navy SEAL Eddie Gallagher meets with President Trump at Mar-A-Lago

PALM BEACH (KUSI) – President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump met with Navy SEAL Eddie Gallagher and his wife Andrea at the president’s Mar-A-Lago resort over the weekend.

The Gallagher’s posted some photos on social media with the caption, “Finally got to thank the president and his amazing wife.”

President Trump overruled the Navy’s decision to strip Gallagher of his Trident pin. Trump, who pledged support for Gallagher throughout the criminal proceedings, signed an Executive Order of Clemency in November, restoring Gallagher to the rank of E-7, the rank he held prior to the verdict, which was delivered by a jury of five Marines and two Navy men.

Gallagher was acquitted of murdering an ISIS prisoner in 2017, but was convicted of posing with a corpse for a group photo.

The Gallagher’s gave President Trump and Melania a gift from Gallagher’s deployment to Mosul, Iraq.
