Navy veteran honored with plaque at Mt. Soledad

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – Hundreds gathered today at Mt. Soledad to honor Senior Chief Petty Officer Kenton Stacy who received a a plaque at the National Veterans Memorial.

Kenton has received numerous awards including a Purple Heart and two Bronze Star medals. He served in the Navy as an explosive ordinance disposal technician in more than 50 combat missions. On Nov. 9, 2017,  an IED exploded and critically injured him.

The ceremony concluded with a special fighter jet flyover and a performance of “God Bless America.” Stacy was surrounded by family and friends.
