New bike racks for Juarez-Lincoln Elementary School

OTAY MESA (KUSI) — Everybody at Juarez Lincoln Elementary School loves to ride their bikes, but riding to school was a little difficult because the school had no bike racks.

This was brought to the attention of Principal Toni Faddis pretty quickly a year and a half ago, when as the new principal, she was meeting individually with some of the students.

The school and its school district, Chula Vista Elementary, is very much aboard promoting health and physical activity for its kids.

During an assembly that also promoted bicycle safety, a $1,000 check was presented to the school for three new bike racks. Amgen Bicycle Tour donated $500 and the other $500 came from California Bicycles in La Jolla.
Rad Power bikes kicked in another $150. 

In addition, Essenfeld had new helmets and lights for the kids, courtesty of SANDAGS I-Commute program.
