New City Heights park named after Councilmember Charles Lewis III

CITY HEIGHTS (KUSI) – In honor of the service and dedication of the late District Four City Councilmember Charles Lewis III, Mayor Kevin L. Faulconer and several local officials and community leaders participated in a joyous celebration of his life at the opening of a new City Heights community park at 4751 Home Avenue Thursday afternoon.
The new 5.86 acre park space is named after Councilmember Lewis, who was a strong advocate for City Heights and recognized for implementing a graffiti control program as well as numerous tree planting beautification projects throughout the district.

The park is divided into 1.86 acres of developed park space and 4 acres of protected natural parkland along a canyon hillside.
