New clinical trials treat patients with high risk for cervical cancer

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – January is cervical cancer awareness month, and nearly 13,000 women in the U.S. are diagnosed with cervical cancer every year.

Local researchers say they’re working on new treatments, clinical trials and therapy for this disease.

Dr. Jyoti Mayadev, Chief of Gynecology Oncology Radiation Services at UCSD & Assoc. Professor of Radiation Oncology at UCSD, was in studio to talk more about this.
