New Jersey senator accused of stalling Issa’s nomination

USA (KUSI) – New information today provides more information about why former congressman Darrell Issa’s confirmation hearing in front of a senate committee was postponed.

Senator Robert Menendez, a Democrat from New Jersey, is being accused of stalling Issa’s nomination to be the next director of the US Trade and Development Agency.

Menendez told Issa he had significant concerns about his FBI background check and the information is “potentially disqualifying for senate confirmation.”

Issa did have a troubled youth, but claims to have turned things around to become a multi-millionaire.

Issa responded with a statement saying, “This is not about Darrell Issa and qualifications, it is about obstructing President Trump’s ability to have people of his choosing run government agencies.”
