New law gives bike riders 3-foot buffer from passing vehicles

Law enforcement and elected officials, along with members of the San Diego County Bicycle Association and the Auto Club, Tuesday launched a bicycle safety awareness campaign in conjunction with a state law that took effect, mandating that drivers allow at least three feet of space when passing a bicycle.
