New sea wall in Mission Beach

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – It’s a hot day in the middle of winter. Something the chamber of Commerce dreams about.

Highs at the beach in San Diego reached 82 Tuesday, another perfect day in paradise. But, in the middle of paradise there’s a growing pain along the boardwalk. Though after a decade of talking about it, the sea wall in Mission Beach is finally getting a face lift.

The sea wall was built in 1925, and it is currently falling apart. 91 years of memories have made this sea wall a bit of an icon.

Since the boardwalk is also the gateway for millions of visitors, it’s about time America’s Finest City gets "America’s Finest Sea Wall."

For the first time in a long time, business along the boardwalk is booming in the winter months, all thanks to the current temperatures.
