New southbound pedestrian plaza opens at San Ysidro Land Port of Entry

SAN YSIDRO (KUSI) – The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) announced the opening of a portion of a newly constructed southbound pedestrian plaza on the east side of the San Ysidro Land Port of Entry (LPOE), on Monday.

The plaza is part of ongoing construction to modernize and expand the San Ysidro.

The opening of the plaza reroutes southbound pedestrians onto a pathway that leads to a crossing point with Mexico.

Pedestrians will now walk directly from the trolley plaza south into Mexico. Directional signage will be in place.
