New student abuse reporting system for San Diego

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – The District Attorney’s office announced a new, independent online system that will allow anyone to report suspected sexual or physical abuse of students in schools, along with a newly-established task force which will receive, review and respond to reports of such student abuse.

The task force is a response to feedback from students, parents and others who have told the District Attorney that they want to be heard.

Often times, cases of sexual or physical abuse go unreported because victims don’t know who to trust. To ensure that these cases are reported and investigated, DA Summer Stephan is setting up a special task force that will look into complaints of sexual or physical abuse, not just by adults, but by other students, as well.

Anyone can use the online reporting system by visiting the DA’s website:

Reports can also be filed anonymously.
