New study shows increase in meth use

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – A recent report from the San Diego Association of Governments showed that more than half the women booked into local jails last year had methamphetamine in their system.

That is a 7 percent increase from last year, pushing the number to 53 percent, which is a 15-year high. About 40 percent of men had meth in their system and nearly 70 percent of all inmates tested positive for at least one kind of drug.
