Nine arrested on suspicion of drunken driving in Mission Bay

SAN DIEGO (CNS) – Nine motorists were arrested on suspicion of drunken driving in or near a driver’s license/sobriety checkpoint in the Mission Bay area of San Diego, a police officer said Saturday.

Ten vehicles were also impounded during the checkpoint in the 4200 block of Mission Bay Drive that began at 11:09 p.m. Friday and ended Saturday at 3 a.m., said San Diego police officer Mark McCullough.

McCullough said 1,780 vehicles passed through the checkpoint, with 572 of those vehicles being screened by officers.
