No road fatalities during Labor Day weekend

SAN DIEGO (CNS) – No traffic fatalities occurred in the San Diego area over the Labor Day weekend, the California Highway Patrol reported Tuesday.

Between 6 p.m. Friday and 11:59 p.m. Monday, CHP officers jailed 88 motorists on suspicion of driving while intoxicated in the county, according to the state agency.

Statewide, automobile accidents claimed 49 lives over the same period, and the CHP made 1,168 arrests for suspicion of DUI.
