North County Fire Protection hosts active shooter drill

BONSALL (KUSI) — North County Fire Protection District hosted an active shooter drill at Bonsall Elementary School Saturday.

The drill was a full-scale exercise with participants from North County Fire, Vista Fire, Oceanside Fire, Deer Springs Fire, Pala Fire, Cal-Fire, and North Comm., as well as San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, California Highway Patrol, United States Customs and Border Protection, the Oceanside Police Department, and representatives from the Bonsall Unified School District.

In an effort to create the safest community possible, North County Fire Protection District partnered with other local fire, police, and school officials to practice an active shooter training drill in Bonsall.

This training will help agencies practice working together in this type of call.
