North Korean leader Kim Jong Un visits Chinese President Xi Jinping

Chinese officials are confirming that North Korean Leader Kim Jong Un traveled to Beijing to meet with Chinese President Xi JinPing.

This is Kim’s first known trip to a foreign country since he took power in 2011.

The Chinese president held talks with Kim at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing and hosted a banquet for Kim and his wife.

North Korean officials confirmed the visit only after Kim crossed back into North Korea.
