Garage fire in North Park extinguished after damaging home
SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – A North Park garage fire damaged a car and a neighboring home early Monday morning, but caused no injuries before being put out by crews.
The fire began in an unattached garage at 2711 Felton Street just before 5 a.m., according to authorities.
A car inside the garage suffered damage, as did the stucco exterior of a neighboring house. While there were two people inside the damaged home, they were able to avoid injury.
Firefighters were able to knock the fire down in just under a half hour, and reported about $100,000 in damage to the garage and its contents.
It was not immediately known what caused the fire, but the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department declared that the fire was not intentionally set.
