OB high surf advisory closes pier and attracts big wave surfers

OCEAN BEACH (KUSI) – The Ocean Beach Pier remains closed by the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department due to a high surf advisory.

The National Weather Service says large breaking waves between 6 and 9 feet are expected tonight.

Dan Plante was live at Sunset Cliffs to demonstrate the onshore waves and the people it attracts.

The high surf advisory is expected to last until Saturday at 4 a.m.
