Victory Christian Academy Knights 44, Ocean View Christian Patriots 0

Although the game is well in the books, the Victory Christian Knights are just getting started as they defeated the Ocean View Patriots, 44-0, and they look to carry momentum into next week.

Victory Christain improves to 2-2, while Ocean View falls to 0-4.

The Knights came into Spring Valley hungry for a win and they will leave the full and stuffed as they did just that.

Victory Christian’s offense was non-stop as senior Larry Oldham III had a huge game under center.

Oldham was able to pass for two touchdowns as his receivers finished the plays resulting in scores.

Right off of the bat, Victory Christian’s Jalen Wilson returned the opening kickoff for a 30-yard return creating the much-needed momentum the Knights would need in order to cruise towards a victory.

The Knights will take on the Borrego Springs Rams next week.

Even though the scoreboard showed a goose egg, don’t let that fool you. Ocean View came out and competed for four quarters and not once did they throw in the towel.

The Patriots have a lot of potential in the next couple of years as their quarterback, Tony Valdez, is currently only a freshman.

Ocean View will have to wait until next week to earn their first win of the season as they are set to take on St. Joseph Academy.

Be sure to tune into KUSI every Friday night to catch the “1st and 15” at 10:45pm followed immediately by the PPR at 11 p.m.

The Ocean View Christian Patriots (0-3) will head out during week 6 to play the all-holy Victory Christian Academy Knights (1-2) this Friday night for a rivaled conference game at 7pm.

When it comes to 8-man football, the San Diego community might be a little confused with the concept since everyone is more familiar with the original 11-man setup. A sport that has more recognition on the East Coast is now making its way over to the “best coast” West Coast as the Citrus League is making it’s impact on the San Diego high school football circuit.

The Victory Christian Knights are looking to earn their second win of the season after they take on the Ocean View Patriots during this week’s “Holy War.” The Knights are lead by head coach Earl Benson who is coming off a 3-5 season during the 2017 campaign and looks to improve on last years overall record. Senior quarterback Larry Oldham III has played in all 3 games the Knights have had so far and has accumulated 159 total passing yards with a total of 3 touchdowns. Victory Christian is coming off a huge win against the Warner High Wildcats with a final score of 52-30.

On the other side of the ball the Ocean View Patriots are looking to get their wheels rolling as a victory against the Knights would provide some much needed momentum going into the future weeks. Lead by veteran head coach Ronald Loewenthal, Ocean View looks to spoil the Knights chances of earning their first home win of the season. Even though Ocean View’s roster may be small, the amount of heart that these players play with cannot not be measured. With a freshmen quarterback under center, the rookie quarterback, Tony Valdez, looks to prove his worth by leading his team to victory.

Be sure to watch KUSI every Friday night for the “1st and 15” and 10:45 followed immediately by the PPR at 11pm.
