Oceanside homicide suspect arrested in St. Louis

OCEANSIDE (CNS) – A man suspected of fatally shooting his 25-year-old wife in their Oceanside apartment was arrested Tuesday at a St. Louis bus station.

Dontaye Henderson, 28, had taken a Greyhound bus to St. Louis and was arrested by St. Louis police around 11:15 a.m., according to Oceanside Police Lt. Leonard Mata. Henderson had a handgun, but he was arrested without incident, Mata said.

Henderson allegedly shot Tamara Henderson at about 11:15 a.m. Saturday in their apartment at 2360 Paseo De Laura. Mata said Henderson then kidnapped a woman named Consuelo Ramirez, 24, and forced her to drive him out of the county. Henderson's 6-year-old daughter and 2-year-old son were in the apartment at the time of the shooting, police said.

Ramirez was originally suspected of helping Henderson escape, but she was interviewed by investigators Sunday and was not arrested.

Henderson was expected to be returned to Oceanside today or tomorrow, Mata said.
