Week 10: Oceanside Pirates 28, Torrey Pines Falcons 7
Oceanside came in and squashed Torrey Pines senior night and homecoming affair by a final of 28-7.
To sum up this game it was the Kavika Tua show.
It started with the star running back putting the Pirates up 7-0 midway through the first with a 33 yard touchdown run untouched.
Oceansides defense was also a big story in this game holding the Falcons only to 7 points for the game.
After a couple stalled drives Tua gets the Pirates on the scoreboard with a monster 89 yard touchdown run to get them up 14-0.
Tua blew by defenders on his way and even celebrated with his teammate before he got to the endzone.
After turning the ball over on downs for Torrey Pines the Pirates decided to take the top off the Falcons defense.
This was done courtesy of a 32 yard touchdown pass from Jakob Harris to Jaylin Moncrief to put Oceanside up 21-0 late in the second quarter.
However Torrey Pines would get on the board with 44 seconds left in the second quarter.
After marching down the field, from the 4 yard line Brayden Fowler hits Marco Notarainni on a play action bootleg to cut the score to 21-7 going into halftime.
After a homecoming show at halftime the third quarter started with a few stalled drives Oceanside added to their 21-7 lead.
The player of the game Kavika Tua scored on a 9 yard touchdown run, running through Falcon defenders to hit paydirt.
That put the Pirates up 28-7 late in the third quarter and that would be the last of the scoring in this contest.
Kavika Tua had three rushing touchdowns on the night as Oceanside improves to 6-3 on the season.
The Pirates will take on El Camino at home to continue their winning streak.
Torrey Pines falls to 4-5 on the season and will host La Costa Canyon to get back on the winning side.
