Oceanside School District votes to close Reynolds Elementary by end of school year

OCEANSIDE (KUSI) – Some Oceanside parents are outraged after the Oceanside Unified School District Board of Trustees decided to close the Reynolds Elementary School at the end of the 2022-2023 school year.

The decision comes after soil beneath the school was discovered to have liquidated, according to the board, causing concerns should a major earthquake strike the region.

Hundreds of kids will be forced to transfer schools, causing chaos in parent commutes and community culture.

KUSI’s Matt Prichard reported live from campus after attending the meetings.
