Oceanside shooting leaves one dead, another injured

OCEANSIDE (KUSI) – One person is dead and another wounded after a shooting in Oceanside, according to police.

Preliminary evidence suggested that the shooting was a murder-suicide, but detectives have not ruled out the possibility of a third person as the assailant.

The shooting took place in the 4200 block Vista del Rio Way, near State Route 76 and Mission Avenue in Oceanside.

According to Lt. Leonard Cosby, officers found a woman who appeared to be in her 20s mortally wounded in the residence.

The survivor was taken to a hospital and placed on life support, according to authorities.
