Off-duty police officer killed in motorcycle crash
SAN DIEGO (CNS) – An off-duty San Diego police officer was killed in a motorcycle crash near Palm City, the San Diego Police Department said Thursday.
Officer Christopher Blakeley, 26, a 3-year department veteran, was killed about 9:40 p.m. Wednesday, said San Diego police Lt. Andra Brown.
Witnesses said Blakeley was speeding west on Main Street and failed to stop at a red light at Hollister Street, Brown said.
The motorcycle collided with a pickup truck, causing the truck to roll over, Brown said. The truck's passengers only suffered minor injuries.
