Offices closed in observance of Memorial Day

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) — Local, state and federal government offices will be closed today in observance of Memorial Day, including  all banks and federal agencies.

San Diego City closures:

In San Diego, the closures including administrative offices, libraries, city recreation centers and the Tecolote Nature Center.

Some facilities will be open, including municipal pools from noon to 4 p.m., Chollas Lake, the Mission Trails Regional Park Visitor Center, the Miramar Landfill and municipal golf courses.

Curbside trash pickup will be delayed by one day.

San Diego County closures:

Closures include offices, libraries, animal shelters, and community and teen centers in Fallbrook, Lakeside and Spring Valley.

County parks, campgrounds, neighborhood day-use parks will be open during normal business hours with the exceptions below:

    The Fallbrook Community Center
    The Lakeside Community Center and Teen Center
    The Spring Valley Gym and Community Center
    The Spring Valley Teen Centers/REC Clubs
    The 4S Ranch Sports Park office will be closed for regular business, but the adult hockey activities and all fields will remain open for regular use.

County-run parks and campgrounds will remain open.

Buses, trains and trolleys operated by the Metropolitan Transit System and North County Transit District will operate on Sunday schedules. Most MTS express, rapid express and rural bus routes won’t operate because of the holiday. Find out which here

Users of the MTS Access service and routes served by mini-buses should also monitor the status of a strike by drivers.

Employees of First Transit, a company that supplies some drivers to the MTS, walked off the job last week after they couldn’t reach agreement on a new contract.
