One airline is now encouraging passengers to tip their flight attendants
As reported by the Chicago Tribune, Frontier Airlines is now giving their passengers an option to tip their flight attendants during flights.
Chicago Tribune is reporting, as of January 1, 2019, “Frontier’s 2,200 flight attendants no longer pool their gratuities. Now it’s every man and woman for themselves, and perhaps one beneficiary will be the harried airline passenger.”
Frontier spokesman, Jonathan Freed, released a statement saying, “We appreciate the great work of our flight attendants and know that our customers do as well, so (the payment tablet) gives passengers the option to tip, it’s entirely at the customer’s discretion, and many do it.”
Many frequent fliers are critical of the new option to tip flight attendants, but some supporters say it may lead to better service.
