One dead in National City single-vehicle crash

NATIONAL CITY (CNS) – A motorist was killed Monday when a van veered off
a South Bay freeway offramp and struck a light pole.

The vehicle crashed off the Palm Avenue exit from southbound Interstate
805 in National City shortly after 10 a.m., according to the California Highway
Patrol.

The driver, who was not immediately identified, died at the scene of the
accident, the CHP reported.
