One dead, one injured in shooting in Lakeside

LAKESIDE (KUSI) – Sheriff’s Deputies say two men were shot, one fatally, in a shooting in Lakeside. Deputies say the shooting happened at 4:30 Friday afternoon at the Pana-Rama Mobile Home Estates Park.

A visibly distraught woman who arrived at the crime scene told KUSI the man who was killed was her brother and that the suspect is a family member with a history of methamphetamine use.

A resident of the mobile home park said the man who was killed worked as a volunteer with the California Highway Patrol.

Residents who didn’t want to go on camera said while the mobile home park is for those 55 and older, they see a lot of younger people hanging around. They say they believe some of those younger people are methamphetamine users.

They also say there have been thefts and burglaries and they believe meth addicts are to blame.
