One man killed, another injured in Paradise Hills house fire

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) — One man was killed and another man was injured Saturday night in a Paradise Hills house fire, authorities said.

The fire was reported at 10:17 p.m. in the 2900 block of Calle Cumbre, San Diego police Officer J. Buttle said. The house was in a subdivision just north of the Route 54 Freeway at Reo Drive.

Two victims — both men — were pulled out of the home and taken to a hospital, San Diego Fire-Rescue Department spokesperson Monica Munoz said.

One of the victims died of his injuries sometime later, Munoz said.

Neither of the victims’ identities were immediately available.

Firefighters were able to knock down the blaze within about 45 minutes, Munoz said, and investigators determined the fire was accidental
