One person in police custody after shots fire in Clairemont neighborhood

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) — One person was taken into custody Monday after police were called to a home in the Clairemont neighborhood on a report of shots fired.

Officers arrived at the home on Gila Avenue, south of Clairemont Mesa Boulevard and west of Clairemont Drive, at 11 a.m.

According to officers, they heard several shots before two groups of people ran from the house and got into two different cars.

Forty-five minutes later, one person reportedly came out of the home and was taken into custody.

It was unclear if that person is facing any charges; the San Diego Police watch commander said no other information was available.

Officers told KNSD that they searched the area near Cole Street and Clairemont Drive for two men, but no arrests were made.

Police attempted to pull over a car driving away from the area, but the driver and passenger jumped out and ran off.
