Overturned crane closes NB I-5 in San Clemente

SAN CLEMENTE – Motorists are advised to avoid northbound I-5 in San Diego’s North County due to an overturned crane in San Clemente that is blocking all northbound lanes. 

The northbound five is expected to be closed for eight to ten hours.

Traffic is backed up as far south as Basilone Road in Oceanside, and could reach even further south as the evening commute continues.

Travelers can expect significant delays and are urged to select alternate routes or to postpone travel if possible.
