Pacific storm to hit San Diego Tuesday

SAN DIEGO (CNS) – A Pacific storm system is expected to hit San Diego County on Tuesday with up to 4 inches of rain and the possibility of flash flooding, forecasters said Sunday.

The National Weather Service advised that the moderate to occasionally heavy rain could continue on Wednesday and linger into Thursday, but the heaviest rainfall was expected over coastal mountain slopes Tuesday afternoon and evening.

Total rainfall amounts will range from around a half-inch in the deserts to between 1 and 1.5 inches in the valleys and along the coast, and up to 4 inches on coastal mountain slopes, according to the weather service.

Dense fog in the mountains was also expected in the mountains Tuesday, forecasters said.
