Padres fall to the Dodgers on Opening Day, 3-6
SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – Not since 1998, have the San Diego Padres started a baseball season with such high expectations, but on Opening Day, the Padres fell to the Los Angeles Dodgers 3-6.
Howie Kendrick’s RBI double with two outs in the seventh tied it at 3, and then Jimmy Rollins hit a tie-breaking three-run homer in the eighth inning lifting the Dodgers over the Padres.
This off season, the Padres obtained 15 new players, and players most have heard off, making it one baseball’s top ten off season overhauls.
Unlike his predecessors, AJ Preller was handed a credit card with a $108 million payroll limit, and he made the most of it.
