Pechanga Casino offering free haircuts in October to help cancer patients

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – All month long, Pechanga Resort and Casino in Temecula is offering free haircuts and styling to help those with cancer.

Lauren Fink with Spa Pechanga came by the studio with a few volunteers to talk about the promotion and demonstrate a few haircuts in person.

All month, Spa Pechanga at Pechanga Resort Casino in Temecula offers free haircuts and styles to anyone (men, women and kids) who are willing to cut off and donate 8 inches or more of their hair. It’s a way for hair donors to get a brand new style for fall, and it goes to a great cause.

Hair is donated to the American Cancer Society and gets made into real-hair wigs for those battling breast cancer. One of the major side effects of breast cancer treatment is losing one’s hair. For a woman, that can make one feel even worse than they already do from treatment. The goal of the “mane campaign” is to restore a sense of normalcy to their lives, to make them feel like their beautiful selves.

This is the 6th year Pechanga has put on the hair donation campaign at Spa Pechanga and they’ve collected and donated more than 500 ponytails.
