Pedestrian hospitalized after being struck in crosswalk

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – A 74-year-old female pedestrian stepped into a marked crosswalk and was hit by a Toyota Highlander Tuesday evening.

The driver of the Toyota, a male in his 60’s, stopped at a red light and them made a right turn to go southbound 10400 Camino Ruiz when he struck the female in the crosswalk.

The victim was transported to the hospital with serious life-threatening injuries.

Details of the accident are still under investigation.
