Pedestrian struck by hit-and-run driver in El Cajon

EL CAJON (CNS) – An investigation was under way Tuesday in El Cajon, where a motorist fled after striking a pedestrian, seriously injuring him, police said.

The victim, a man in his 50s, was struck at Second Street and Sumner Avenue about 9:30 p.m. Monday, according to El Cajon police Lt. Greg Robertson. Paramedics took the man to a hospital, the lieutenant said in a statement.

The vehicle that was involved was a dark sedan, possibly a Toyota Corolla, that was traveling south of Second Street, Robertson said. The car likely has front-end damage, he said.
