People across the nation looking to adopt Star and her brother Denver

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – In just a couple of days, the duo’s story has made it onto PeoplePets.com, MSN.com, and Yahoo.News in the United States, New Zealand, and Canada, as well as onto news broadcasts across the country.

Calls and inquiries have been pouring in from as far away as Pennsylvania, Las Vegas, Colorado, New York, Oregon, Utah, Texas, Alabama, Alaska, and Vancouver.

Despite the worldwide attention, Helen Woodward Animal Center is focused on keeping the adoption of Star and Denver (who need to go to a home together) local. This specification is important so that Center trainer, Rob Kuty from San Diego Pet Training, can be available to the new family as they begin their life with a special needs puppy and its sibling.

Star and Denver were originally scheduled to go available today. Unfortunately, Denver had his first lesson with a none-too-friendly bee. Once the bee-sting swelling has gone down, the pair will be ready to greet new potential families.
