Person in a wheelchair is hospitalized after being struck by vehicle

BOSTONIA (KUSI) – Tuesday 9:32 a.m. – Investigators were working Tuesday to determine who was at fault in a crash in an unincorporated area near El Cajon.

The 62-year-old man in a wheelchair was struck by a northbound 2007 Toyota Tundra while headed westbound across Greenfield Drive at Linalda Drive shortly before 4:30 p.m. Monday, California Highway Patrol Officer Kevin Pearlstein said.

There are no stop signs at the intersection. Pearlstein said the front of the pickup truck hit the man, which caused him to fall out of the wheelchair.

He suffered a broken left leg and other injuries and was taken to Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego to be treated.
