Pet Patrol: Avian Behavior International

Sandie Lampe and the Pet Patrol joined Good Morning San Diego with Avian Behavior International.

Have you ever had the need for an adventurous animal nut?

In 2013, with a spine of steel and head filled with dreams, Hillary Hankey quit her job training birds for the San Diego Zoological Society and bought a 20-acre ranch near Valley Center in Southern California.

She filled it with parrots, crowned cranes, owls, falcons, ravens, toucans, and all kinds of birds and began working all around the planet training flying birds for conservation awareness and education.

The Avian Behavior International Ranch has an abundance of natural land, wildlife, and ocean views and offers Southern California locals and visitors the opportunity to interact with incredible free flying birds of prey and other unique feathered ambassadors using Hillary’s adventures and lifelong love for animals as a backdrop for the critical value of their survival in the wild.
