Peter, and the Star Catcher showing now through May 13
San Diego Theatre Connection is Creating Community at Lamplighters, San Diego’s first community theatre, completing its historic 80th Anniversary Season.
The season finale production features the Tony-award winning fantasy, Peter, and the Star Catcher. The innovative play-with-music upends the century-old story of how a lost orphan becomes Peter Pan, the boy who would not grow up.
This is a wildly theatric adaptation of Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson’s best-selling novels and the play was conceived for the stage by directors, Roger Rees and Alex Timbers, and written by Rick Elice, with music by Wayne Barker. From marauding pirates and jungle tyrants to unwilling comrades and unlikely heroes, Peter and the Star Catcher, playfully explores the back story that includes how Peter became Pan, the Captain got his hook, and where Tinker Bell came from
