Pharmacy robber surveillance photos released

OCEANSIDE (CNS) – Oceanside police hope surveillance photos released Wednesday will lead to the man who robbed a CVS Pharmacy of about $15,000 in prescription medicine.

The holdup at 1980 College Blvd. occurred shortly before 10 p.m. June 1, according to Oceanside police Lt. Joe Young.

The robber approached the pharmacy counter, brandished a dark handgun and demanded the medicine from a clerk, Young said in a statement.

The clerk complied and the bandit fled with at least two large, filled CVS-stamped bags. He was last seen driving a 1980s model Nissan Sentra north on College Boulevard, Young said.

The robber is white, 25-35 years old, 5 feet 4 to 5 feet 6 and weighing 130-150 pounds. He has blue eyes, a thin mustache and a possible goatee, and was dressed in a black hooded sweatshirt and black knit cap.

Anyone with information about the robber was urged to call Oceanside police Detective Mark LaVake at (760) 435-4872.
